Which turbine is the Halifax Fan Club turbine?

Ovenden Moor is home to our Fan Club No.3, but which turbine is the Fan Club turbine?

You ask, we answer! Which turbine is the Halifax Fan Club turbine?

Unlike our Fan Club's 1 & 2 (which are single stick turbines!), our Halifax Fan Club is part of a larger wind farm, Ovenden Moor. To create the Halifax Fan Club, we adopted the power from one turbine within this wind farm, T09.

Which turbine is T09?

As you can see in the super handy diagram at the top of this page (Constantine not to scale!), T09 is located southeast on the site. At ground level, T09 is identifiable as the turbine closest to the public footpath.

T09 is a whopping 2MW turbine and is the only turbine on this site connected to your Fan Club discounts.

We hope this gives you a clearer picture of which turbine is yours. Keep an eye on your dashboard for when T09 is spinning and make the most of those discounts!

IMPORTANT!

Make sure you keep safe and always maintain your distance from any wind turbine site. Don’t get too close to a turbine or go anywhere without permission. The best way to see if your Fan is spinning is via your Fan Club Dashboard or from your window, if you are lucky enough to see the turbines from home!

FAQ'S

There are a number of reasons as to why T09 (on the rare occasion) might not be spinning. These are outlined in our blog here.

No, we do not recommend you visit T09. Wind turbines are very large machines - you should not get too close. We advise monitoring your turbine from your online Fan Club dashboard or safely from your window (if you can see the turbine from home!).

No, the other turbines onsite do not impact your discount. We are only connected to T09. When T09 spins you'll get a discount, when (on the rare occasion) it's not spinning, you won't get a discount.

T09 is a 2MW turbine. To receive a 20% discount, T09 needs to be generating at least 60kW (a light breeze). To receive a 50% discount, T09 needs to be generating at least 1500kW (a strong breeze!).
